17 weeks 2 days!
Yesterday we had our 17 week appointment at the doctor's office. I left school after 4th period (I have 5th period conference) and ended up making it back for my next class! The doctor's office is 30-45 minutes away from my school. My appointment only lasted 15 minutes....it was amazing!
Every time I go I first have to grab a cup and go to the restroom.... ;). Then they call my name and a nurse takes me back to weigh me. I weighed in 5 lbs above my last appointment, but still 5 lbs under my starting weight. My last appointment was the day I had food poisoning, so I had lost 10 lbs. She was happy to see me gaining it back.
Then we went into the room where the nurse took my blood pressure (120/60) and used the doppler to hear the heartbeat! I always get SO nervous right before because I'm worried I won't hear anything, but it's the best sound when we hear it! It started off in the 130's but when she moved to a new place and was pressing down the baby must have started moving around because it went to the 150's where it stayed "regular." The nurse said it was a healthy heartbeat and sounded great!
My doctor then came in, and we talked about TCU for a bit because she is an alum as well. She then asked if I had questions and gave me the run-down for my next appointment- OUR SONOGRAM! It's in 8 days...yay!
I'm actually more excited about seeing the baby than finding out the gender. I could probably wait to find out until birth but I want to start making stuff and decorating the nursery.
