Cheetah outfit to church

This morning Nora went down for a nap at 8/815 and I got ready for church. She ended up sleeping until 10:30, and I would have left with her asleep but I kept thinking she was going to wake up! I ended up watching the first service online and then we made it in time for the Young Adult group at 11. This morning was pancake Sunday which was fun. Nora was awake for a bit and then halfway through Austin's message she started crying so I took her to the room next door to feed her. We then had a lunch meeting after church in the fellowship hall and she fell asleep for the first half and then I fed her on the couches in the bathroom. Then I went back in and bounced her for a bit then headed home.

Nora's day of no sleep

Poor baby had wanted to lay on me all day and eat, and when I try and put her down she lays awake. So we've just cuddled together since 10am.

Sleeping, grocery store, International Dinner

Today Nora and I went to the grocery store by ourselves for the first time! She did GREAT! Slept the whole time!!

Daddy then came home for lunch and he and Nora took a little nap together :)

We had to go to an International Student dinner at TCU put on by a christian organization for international students.

Visiting TCU

On Monday night Austin and I had to set up a table for the church fair at TCU. It was in the BLUU (main building) upstairs. Nora went in her stroller and did great! When we got there she was wide awake and then started to get fussy so I found a secluded area and fed her. I never thought 7 years after my first day of school there I would be nursing my baby there! After she ate she fell asleep and I tried to put her down but she woke up, so I held her the whole time, sound asleep. My arm was KILLING me haha. 6 Week Growth Spurt

Well, she's at it again. Her second growth spurt started! She's 5 weeks 6 days today and it's supposed to hit between 4-6 weeks. Here is her sleeping last night:

It was hard waking up so much last night, but it makes it a lot easier watching a show. Right now I'm watching Parenthood. I have my laptop set up next to the rocker and I continue watching an episode each time she feeds. She usually eats for about 30 minutes, so I get most of the way through one. I had been trying to just stay awake while feeding for the first week she was home and that was TOOO hard. This gives me something to keep me awake. It also helps me not rush her. When I have nothing to do and she pulls off I would tend to then put her back to sleep. But now I latch her back on each time until I can tell she is completely full.

Watching High School Musical while she eats :)

Poor baby sleeping on me. She would wake up crying from her constipation and then fall back asleep.

Symptoms of growth spurts include:

Not really sleeping during the day
Only sleeping for an hour between feedings at night
Wanting to sleep ON me
Screaming in pain
Crying a lot :(
Constipation....

She had a blowout last night after not having a bowel movement in 36 hours, poor baby. She had been grunting and pushing all day to no avail :( She passed a ton of gas.

She had another blowout this morning at church.

But she's still a little cutie!!!

1 Month Old Sleep Patterns

Nora is a really great sleeper at night. I finally realized that trying to put her down for the night at 7 or 8 then she's going to wake up fussy at 11pm and I'm going to be tired from sleeping for a few hours. SO, her bedtime is 10pm. Usually, she'll eat for a LONG time before she goes to bed....and by long time I mean around 2 hours. haha. I change her into her pajamas, give a bath (every few days), and bring her to the living room. Austin and I get comfortable in the living room and watch an episode of Monk while she eats. She usually finishes eating and falls asleep at 10 or 10:15. We then get ready for bed and usually go to sleep around 10:45 or 11. She sleeps until 3:30 (pretty much ON THE DOT) and I feed her until 4 and she falls right back asleep in her bassinet. She then sleeps until 7 or 8 and I feed her for 30 minutes then she sleeps until 10! It's incredible! I haven't felt sleep-deprived since day 5 home from the hospital now that we have this figured out.

During her naps during the day she sometimes wakes up and will just lay in her bed with her eyes open for a while haha.

Other times she wakes up screaming...

Today she took a nap on my shoulder. SO SWEET. I then put her in her bed. She's been asleep for 3 1/2 hours so far and is still sleeping.

Visit to Midlothian

Tonight we went to my mom and dad's house for dinner! It was fun! Caden was so cute, like usual, and Nora looked around for a while then fell asleep...like usual ha. We had lasagna and burgers. It sounds random but the lasagna was for me because I love my moms!!!

Visiting Krista and the Crib

Today we went over to my friend Kristas house. She has a 2 year old little girl and a baby boy that is 4 days younger than Nora. It was great seeing her. She made homemade pizza for lunch and we sat and caught up. Her little girl is SO SWEET and well behaved! Her baby boy slept the whole time and Nora pretty much sat awake the whole time. She's been staying awake most of the day lately...

When we got home she slept for about 40 min and ate for what seemed like hours. Finally she seemed tired enough to sleep again so I tried putting her in her crib just to see what happened. The iPad is her sound machine. She lasted about 5 minutes and then started crying. I'm going to try once a day for naps just to get her used to it so we can slowly transition.

Today we visited grandma for lunch!! She's doing a lot better but is still in some pain. Here are the pics from our visit!
